This week’s episode of “The Road to Somewhere” gives you another two-for-one. We head to Clinton, Oklahoma, and we take a quick look at two of the Minor Prophets. Clinton is one of the “must stop’s” on Route 66. The reason is the Route 66 Museum that is located there. Showing the history of the Mother Road, it includes a replica of Pop Hick’s Diner where Joy and John will shoot their video. The books of the Old Testament that are paired up with Clinton are the prophets Habakkuk and Zephaniah. Together, they only contain six chapters, but those chapters are loaded. Our short video gives a quick introduction to both books, but the teaching video goes into depth on both of them. These are the last of the pre-exile prophets. They are both contemporaries of Jeremiah and speak both to the coming destruction of Jerusalem, God’s future restoration of Israel, and God’s judgment on Babylon. Zephaniah asks the big question many of us ask: “God, why don’t you do something?” God gives a big answer that applies to all of us, also: “You have no idea what I’m getting ready to do in the future.” The links to this week’s episode and the teaching video on Zephaniah and Habakkuk are below.
