“Consider Your Ways”

Sixty-six years have elapsed between the last episode of The Road to Somewhere and this week’s session.  A lot has transpired.  Jerusalem was destroyed in 586 BC and this week’s prophet is sent by God to Jerusalem in 520 BC.  In between, the Persian Empire has conquered the Babylonian Empire, and the King of the Persian Empire has given permission to a remnant of exiles to return to Jerusalem to rebuild the Temple.  But that permission was granted in 538 BC and after sixteen years, the Temple still lies in ruin.    To get things back on track, God sends the prophet Haggai to Jerusalem in 520 BC with two simple messages.  The first is “Consider Your Ways.”  The returned exiles have gotten their priorities mixed up.  As a result, things are not going well for the returned exiles.  The second message from God is “Build my house.”   Amazingly, the people actually listen to the prophet!  In the longer teaching video l am going to give you some tips on how to “Consider your ways!”  The links to both this week’s episode, and the teaching video on Haggai are below:
