Jesus said he came to give us life, and life to the full (John 10:10). What did he mean? If I asked ten people on the street why Jesus came, the predominant answer would be to die on the Cross to forgive our sins. But, I believe as important as that truth is, it was not the end of why he came. Human beings are born dead. Physically alive, but spiritually dead. Jesus came to give us a kind of life that only comes from God. We are born in a new way when we open our lives to Jesus and he sends his Spirit to give us life. That is what the day of Pentecost was all about.
