In our second session of studying the book of Acts, we looked at a day that changed the world. It is called Pentecost. It was on this day, 50 days after Jesus rose from the dead, that God poured out the Holy Spirit. It was a day that changed the world. In session #3 of our study, I am going to break away from the narrative in Acts to put some meat on the bones of our study of Pentecost. I find that many people who read Acts 2 blow through the event without a great deal of understanding about the Holy Spirit. Often, they tend to view the Holy Spirit as some kind of force that came on the apostles. This is not accurate. It is a lack of understanding of who God is and what he is like. Could there be a more important subject? So, I am going to do a little theology in this session so that you have a better understanding of what God is doing in the rest of Acts. I will attempt to help you understand the Trinity, and then zero in specifically on the third person of the Trinity: the Holy Spirit.
