In J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Fellowship of the Ring, Gandalf the wizard quotes from a poem titled “The Riddle of Strider” the famous words, “All who wander are not lost.” These words do not apply to the nation of Israel in the book of Numbers. You might change the words to “All who wander are sometimes lost.” In this week’s episode of The Road to Somewhere, you will hear about the forty years the nation wandered in the wilderness before entering the Promised Land. You will also hear about the oldest café on Route 66 found in Litchfield, Illinois. This is the next to the last episode of Season One and the journey across Illinois.
