In Session Six we come to the end of our first season of The Road to Somewhere. We hit Mitchell, Illinois and the Luna Café, one of Al Capone’s regular stops in the 1930s. Today it is a bar and restaurant. Then it also had an illegal gambling casino in the basement and a brothel upstairs. Mitchell is just thirteen miles from St. Louis, which will be our first stop in Season Two. My plan is to break over the holidays and kick off in January. This will give you time to catch up. If you haven’t watched the lectures that go with each episode, this would be a great time to do it. The lecture that goes with the finale of Season One is on the book of Deuteronomy. It has a very dramatic ending as leadership Is handed over to Joshua, and Moses heads off into the Jordanian wilderness to die. Here are the links to both my narration of The Road to Somewhere and to the lecture on Deuteronomy.
