In today’s session of Season Five of The Road to Somewhere, we make our third stop in the state of Texas. John and Joy arrive in Amarillo, Texas, and we will take a quick look at the third piece of Jesus’ life through the lens of Luke’s gospel. This is a time of growing opposition from the Pharisees and Scribes. The period is sometimes called “The Year of Opposition.” Luke records most of this period including the parable of the Good Samaritan and the parable of the Prodigal Son. John records Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead. By the end of this period, Jesus is on his way to Jerusalem and the events of Passion Week.
