It was the biggest robbery in history. The exiles who returned from captivity in Babylon have robbed God! God said so. How did they rob him? They neglected to give the 10% of all he helped them make back to him. It was his. They robbed him. The result was that he withheld his blessing. It is about 420 BC, roughly a hundred years since the Temple was rebuilt. A new generation lives in Jerusalem. The priests are crooked, the men are divorcing their wives to marry foreign women, the people are not giving God their tithe and the Old Testament comes to an end. It is all in this week’s episode of The Road to Somewhere! John and Joy are in Texola, the final stop in Oklahoma, and the book paired with the town is Malachi. It is the last book of the Old Testament. We have now been through four states on Route 66, and thirty-nine books of the Old Testament!
