Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! We have come to the place in The Story of Jesus where Jesus begins his final trip to Jerusalem. Jesus and his followers are coming to Jericho, the oldest city in the world. In Session #24, Jesus has two encounters that we will look at in this study. As he approaches Jericho, he meets a blind beggar named Bartimaeus. Bart cries out “Son of David, have mercy on me.” Jesus does! Then, as he passes through Jericho, he comes to a sycamore tree which a short tax collector named Zacchaeus has climbed to get a look at Jesus, the “friend of tax collectors and ‘sinners’”. Jesus invites himself to dinner at Zacchaeus’s house. Zach’s life is transformed. They are two great encounters and the video is up at the link below:
