I don’t have a comment regarding the prodigal son. However, I was at the Narrow Gate meeting today when you spoke about the Thyatria Church. I really enjoyed your perspective regarding this church. But I wanted to address your comment about the house of Judah being only the two tribes of Judah and Benjamin. There are actually three tribes included in the house or kingdom of Judah. We discover who this third tribe is beginning in 1 Kings 12:25-31. After Jeroboam became king it says he built two golden calves (verse 28), when he did this he appointed his own priests. These priests were all sorts of people, they were not from the Levites (verse 31). Now in 2 Chronicles 11:13-17 it tells us what happened with the Levites. When Jeroboam appointed his own priests, the Levites eventually abandoned their property and went to Judah in Jerusalem. There they strengthened Judah and supported Rehoboam. When this happened the tribe of Levi became apart of house or kingdom of Judah.
We also discover this in Ezra 1:5 were it says, “Then the family heads of Judah and Benjamin,and the priests and Levites…prepared to go up and build the house of the Lord in Jerusalem.” This means the tribe of Levi was not carried back to Assyria with the rest of the house of Israel, but were carried off by the Babylonians.
