Paul, Timothy, and the Women

Moving on down The Road to Somewhere,  our stop this week is Kingman, AZ.  Kingman has claimed the title “The Heart of Historic Route 66.”  John and Joy find a great spot to shoot their video at Mr. D’s Route 66 Diner.  Their relationship continues to grow as in a poolside conversation John tells Joy that she is beautiful.  The biblical book connected to Kingman is Paul’s first letter to his protégé Timothy.  Timothy has been sent to Ephesus by Paul to pastor the church there.  The letter is filled with instruction about how a church is to operate and what Timothy should be doing as it’s pastor.  The entire letter reads like an instruction manual on how to run a church.  One hotly debated issue in the letter is the role of women in the church.  In the teaching video I go into some depth on this issue that continues to be a hot topic in theological circles.  The links to both todays episode, and the teaching video on I Timothy are below.  Finally, I wanted all of you who have been concerned about and praying for Baker to know the church he has worked at for 14 years, and from which he has been on medical leave of absence, has terminated his employment.  Please pray for him as he navigates figuring out how to meet his financial needs and his next steps.  Thanks!!!
