Up, Down, and Out

Are you ready for a quick trip from Texas into New Mexico on Rt. 66?  For reasons previously explained, the short video for Season Six, Episode One, was an experiment in filming a session via Zoom.  It isn’t perfect, but it gives a quick look at the next stop on Route 66: Albuquerque, New Mexico and a brief introduction to the book of Acts.  We only make one stop in New Mexico because there is only one book that goes with this part of the Bible.  The book of Acts could be easily divided into two parts.  So I did.  One stop, but two teaching videos.  You could think of the early chapters of Acts by remembering the three words Up…Down…and Out.  Here is how it goes: Jesus goes Up – the Ascension of Jesus is the first part of the book.   Ten days later, the Spirit comes down – the Day of Pentecost.  With the arrival of the Holy Spirit now indwelling the early followers of Jesus, the Apostles begin to go Out – telling the world about Jesus.  The first teaching video (the link that is below) is all about Up and Down.  The next video will be about the two primary men who begin to take the message of Jesus Out: Peter and Paul.  I hope all of you who have been on the journey will continue the trip, and that a few who have walked through the last couple of months with me will join our journey.
