Many of you are familiar with the great C.S. Lewis classic series The Chronicles of Narnia. But did you know that Israel had its own set of Chronicles? In this week’s session of The Road to Somewhere, we will head to Springfield, Missouri, one of two cities claiming to be the birthplace of Route 66, and take a look at the books of I and II Chronicles. The Chronicles of Israel cover the time period from the beginning of the human race through the beginning of the rebuilding of Jerusalem after it’s destruction by the Babylonian Empire. The first word of I Chronicles is “Adam”. The final sentences of II Chronicles tell of the command of Cyrus, ruler of the Persian Empire, to rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem. The books cover a lot of territory and it will be important that you not only watch this week’s episode, but also watch the video on I and II Chronicles. It is a two for one deal.
