Miracles

Jesus performed miracles.  In Session 18, I am going to take a classic miracle and help you understand a bit about miracles and what purpose Jesus had in mind when he performed one.  In the flow of the narrative, John the Baptist gets beheaded by Herod Antipas.  Jesus responds by taking his twelve disciples for a time of rest across the Sea of Galilee in a remote place near the town of Bethsaida.  Massive crowds follow him.  When it comes time to eat dinner Philip suggests Jesus send the people home to eat.  Jesus has other plans.  He feeds 5,000 – 10,000 by miraculously multiplying two fish and five loaves provided by a boy in the crowd.  Back in Capernaum (after a stroll on the Sea of Galilee) he will use this miracle to teach the truth that he is “the bread of life.”  It is a powerful incident in Jesus’s life.  This week’s video is up and can be accessed at the link below:
