The Woman at the Well

Tomorrow night, in our ninth session of The Story of Jesus, we will explore an encounter Jesus had with a woman of questionable reputation at a well outside the Samaritan village of Sychar. If you were a good Jew, in Jesus’ day, you wouldn’t be in Samaria.  You wouldn’t stop at a Samaritan village.  And, it would be especially scandalous for you to engage in a conversation, alone, with a woman; especially one with a questionable reputation.   But, Jesus does all of the above!  It is a great encounter and I’ll walk you through how Jesus “hooks” her, and “lands” her.  Remember, after tomorrow, we will take a break until after Easter.  This will give some of you a chance to catch up with the videos and be up to speed when we get back on our journey.   The study airs at 6:30 pm (MT) on YouTube.  The link below will take you directly to the live stream.  The link goes live at 6:25 pm with a five-minute countdown to the study. The same link will give you access to the video of the study after the live stream plays. (The above painting was found in the catacombs under Rome and dates to the 5th century. It is the oldest known drawing of the encounter of Jesus and the woman at the well.)
