For all of you joining us in our study of the book of Revelation, this Wednesday I will be taking you through Chapter 13 of the book. This chapter introduces us to two more of the primary characters that will fill the rest of the book. You will meet two beasts. One is out of the sea and one out of the land. The first is a symbol of a future world leader John calls the Antichrist in his first and second letters. The second is identified in Revelation as “the false prophet.” Satanically empowered, they will deceive multitudes of men and women in the last days. They will demand people receive a mark to show their allegiance. We call it the mark of the Beast. The Antichrists is identified as having a numerical value of 666. We believe it is the numerical value of his name, but the text does not specifically say that.
